On the other side of the Exe,another Victorian bridge was targetted for destruction.The St.Andrew Street Bridge that linked the two halves of St.Andrew Street,would be replaced by a footbridge.This effectively cut off the two halves of the street from each other,as now if you lived at the bottom end of St.Andrew Street and wanted to drive to the top,you would have to drive all around Tiverton to get there.

The rails of the old Exe Valley Railway had already been removed,but now all trace of it was to be flattened.The raised track bed was completely levelled all the way down to Tiverton Station and anything railway related was either removed,destroyed or buried.The only thing that remains is the steep embankment which you can still see today as you drive down the Great Western Way.
