Thorverton
Thorverton station opened at the same time as the railway in 1885.It had two platforms,as it was a passing place, the main buildings being on the southbound platform. The Tiverton bound platform had a small wooden shelter on it for the passengers to wait in.
Thorverton, not being on the main road and with no bus service, was quite isolated and was much used by the locals. The station also served the nearby watermill by way of a siding,so along with the many passengers and all the freight, the station became one of the most used on the line.
After the closure of the railway the station master's house was converted into a private house that was named,"Beeching's Way".
