We then walked over to the wall by the bus stop.This wall is actually where the old bridge was. If you look over the wall and up past the private car park,this is where the line to Morebath Junction Halt used to go (blue map marker).This carpark was built on top of the filled in deep embankment.

Walking down the hill a little bit from the wall,you come to the station master's house, called,"Station House"(pink map marker).From here even when not working,the station master would be able to easily keep an eye on all the comings and goings of the trains. 

We then crossed over the road towards the car park and looked down into the car park,in the knowledge that we were standing on the old line buried beneath us.

If you walk down to the other end of the car park,past the playground and across the road and look down towards the industrial estate you will notice that there is a sharp drop and you can get an idea of the original level of the tracks .

Walking to the road from the car park we come to the most obvious clue to Bampton's railway past, Station Road and the old road sign up on the building(light blue map marker).

The pathway to the right of the toilets is where the gated entrance to the station was.This was a little lane that went down to the station buildings and where taxis would wait for their fares.
