Blue Anchor to Minehead

I started to panic a bit when I realised that this was our last ride,so I determined to spend the whole of this, our final journey, with my head out of the window making the most of it.It's a lovely stretch of the line with the sea on one side and the Exmoor hills on the other and it's a glorious sight when Dunster Castle comes into view.I really enjoyed this part of the journey. Our train slowly rattled into Minehead and there it was,our journeys end.

What a lovely day we'd had riding the rails in Somerset and I would certainly recommend it,but my thoughts did start wandering to Devon and the Exe! We set off home on the pleasant drive over Exmoor stopping off in the pub in Devon for dinner, that my brother generously bought for everyone. As I sipped my pint,I could still here the rattling of the tracks and the toot toot of the engine in my ears and a contented smile appeared on my face.
